The big headlines in the technology industry this week is of the new alliance between Microsoft and Novell. Once they were fierce competitors. Now there's a wide ranging deal between these organizations.
In my opinion this deal will improve interoperability between Windows and SuSe Linux, and enhance document compatibility. It will be good for clients of both companies. Interested in finding out more? Here's a link to a couple of articles:
- The Wall Street Journal broke the news of this alliance. Their article is called: Microsoft, Novell ReachAccord on Linux.
- The Microsoft Monitor also has some great analysis in Joe Wilcox's piece called: The Microsoft and Novell Partnership.
I guess if Microsoft could get into a deal with Sun Microsystems, it was inevitable that Novell would follow. I wonder who is next?
